McCarthy Building Companies is looking for skilled Concrete Finishers III for an exciting project in Houston, TX. In this role, you will pour, smooth, and level concrete using various finishing hand/power tools (float, trowels, concrete vibrators, etc.). The ideal applicant has 4+ years of proven experience as a concrete finisher in large commercial construction projects and possess excellent finishing techniques.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Complete Crew Task Hazard Analysis (THA) log daily
• Recognize hazards and danger zones
• Spray cure using Hudson Sprayer
• Perform material calculations
• Saw cut concrete joints
• Form, pour, and finish: sidewalks, stairs, wall tops, pads, block outs etc.
• Set up laser for grade, screed pins, and power screed
• Rub and patch non-architectural and architectural concrete walls
• Dry-pack equipment and grout steel column bases
• Clean, fuel, and change blades of trowel machines
• Read and interpret blueprints
• Vibrate decks
• Assist other trades when necessary

QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior experience with self-perform concrete work in commercial, civil, or marine environments
• Proficient in broom concrete and slick (burn) finishing techniques
• Must understand architectural concrete finishing, and wall pouts sequences/parameters (salt finish, exposed aggregate, and stamped concrete)
• Prior experience with concrete truck tickets (slump, mix design, concrete strengths, etc.)
• Utilize common construction materials, hand tools, and power tools (hammer, shovel, water pump, measuring tape, hammer drill, vibrators, saw, demolition hammer, etc.)
• Properly use of concrete finishing hand/power tools (float, single trowel machine, bull float, broom, edger, etc.)
• Must be familiar with different type of concrete vibrators and its applications
• Understand area and volume concepts
• Proven commitment to Safety
• Work in an organized manner
• Able to work night shifts when needed
• Must have reliable transportation to/from the job site
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions
• Must be self-motivated and can work well with others
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
• Ability to perform heavy lifting/pushing/pulling of material weighing 50 pounds
• Ability to squat, crawl, and work in confined spaces
• Minimum age 18+
• Proof of Identity and Employment Authorization
