Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE : The IT Finance Analyst is responsible for processing and coordinating IT financial transactions while also serving as an entry-level support role for SAP Record-to-Report (R2R) functions. This position ensures financial accuracy, manages IT purchase orders, tracks budgets, and assists accounting teams with key SAP financial processes. The ideal candidate will have strong financial tracking skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to develop expertise in SAP financial operations.

DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Purchase Order & Invoice Management

  • Prepare and track IT purchase orders, ensuring correct cost center allocation and budget reconciliation.
  • Process vendor invoices, audit vendor time sheets, and track payments against Statements of Work (SoWs) to identify discrepancies.
  • Monitor IT budget and financial commitments, ensuring proper reconciliation and reporting.

Budget & Financial Tracking

  • Reconcile and close purchase orders and invoices, coordinating monthly accruals.
  • Code invoices to appropriate general ledger (GL) accounts.
  • Track capital project expenditures in SAP by Internal Order, including budget, actual spend, and committed PO amounts.

Contract Management

  • Coordinate IT vendor master data processes, including submitting new vendor forms, processing change requests, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Manage contract correspondence with IT vendors, ensuring Scope of Work (SoW) documents are in place, accurate, and up to date.

SAP Record-to-Report (R2R) Support (Entry-Level)

  • Assist accounting teams with SAP R2R functions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities in SAP, ensuring financial data accuracy.
  • Provide assistance in SAP data entry and maintenance for financial transactions.
  • Learn and apply SAP financial processes to improve reporting and tracking capabilities.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

  • Associate degree in accounting, information technology, computer science, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and recent, relevant work experience.
  • 1 + years’ experience in with Microsoft Windows, or SAP applications or financial tracking.
  • Knowledge of accounting and business concepts and methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills and experience working on projects with both on-site and remote resources.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial tracking tools.
  • Demonstrated creativity balanced with practicality to meet business objectives and team needs.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail.
