Part-Time WordPress Web Developer & Graphic Designer

Job Type:
Part-Time | 15–25 hours per week
Pay: $30–$40 per hour
Schedule: Flexible (4-hour shifts; expected 10–20 hours per week)
Company Overview:
We are a fast-growing eCommerce startup located in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara. Our small but passionate team of six is currently transitioning from Shopify to WordPress/WooCommerce. We’re looking for a skilled and creative individual to help us build, maintain, and grow our online presence.
Position Summary:
We’re seeking a Part-Time Web Developer & Graphic Designer with hands-on experience in WordPress and WooCommerce. This hybrid role combines web development and graphic design to support our eCommerce operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative startup environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Build, maintain, and optimize our WordPress/WooCommerce website
Design and update digital assets including landing pages, web banners, and email templates
Ensure website functionality, speed, security, and mobile responsiveness
Conduct regular site maintenance, including plugin updates and bug fixes
Collaborate with the marketing and operations teams to support campaigns and product launches
Troubleshoot technical issues and implement site enhancements
Contribute to ongoing UX/UI improvements and branding consistency
Required Qualifications:
2+ years of hands-on experience with WordPress and WooCommerce
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP
Strong graphic design skills (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar)
Understanding of SEO best practices and web performance optimization
Ability to work onsite at our Santa Barbara office (93101)
Excellent communication and time-management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience migrating websites from Shopify to WordPress
Familiarity with Klaviyo, Stripe, and WooCommerce plugins
Understanding of eCommerce operations and user experience best practices
